My name is Paul Jason Capistrano, but my friends and family call me P.J.
I reside in San Jose, California.
Music is a tool. Worship is my life.
I accepted Christ at the age of 14 and have never been the same!
Picked up a couple of instruments and discovered what GOD called me to do. To bless people with my music.
I enjoy writing songs through my personal experience and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I never write a song by forcing myself nor do I just sit there and think all day of the right words. You see I don't write the songs by merely relying on intellect or ideas. All the songs that the Lord has written through me have been created during personal worship time. I sometimes just grab my guitar, find a quiet place in the house and begin to just sing new songs unto GOD. Before I even finish, I discover that a new song is born. That's how the songs are written. So there not actually my songs. There HIS songs written through me. I'm just HIS instrument.
At the age of 20, GOD called for me to join and assemble an independent worship band "Tru Blessing." 7 guys who just love the LORD. Our vision was to reach the lost for CHRIST by using music as a tool and sharing the ONE TRUE BLESSING, Salvation in CHRIST. We thank GOD for the opportunity to share our music and the GOSPEL message at youth retreats, Christian Colleges and outreach events.
I am currently the Associate/Worship Pastor at River of Life Family Church. It is a community, Spirit-filled, Christ centered family focused church in San Jose, CA. I graduated from San Jose Christian College/William Jessup University with a Bachelor of Sciene degree in Bible and Theology with a Major in Pastoral ministry and Church administration.
Outside of church ministry and music - I am an avid sports fan. I enjoy taking the kids to the park and amusement parks. I really like to go to baseball games- Go Oakland A's! Anything to do with history - whether it is history books, movies, archaeology or just the history channel - I am totally dialed in.
I am married to my beautiful wife and childhood sweetheart, Leonie Joy.
I have two beautiful children. Son, Caleb and daughter, Elizabeth.
